Temperatures across the country are continuing to hit the high 30s and 40s and members need to be aware that the dangers of heat stress are very real.
Here's how the Union and one of our South Australian delegates approached the problem:
Members at PICKARD Trusses in Adelaide have been trialling early starts and new evaporative air conditioning units along the jig line as well as maintaining hourly rest breaks in refrigerated air conditioned rest rooms.
Union delegate Alex Hamilton (pictured) has been involved in the trialling and testing of some new work practices and technology to reduce heat stress.
