The Manufacturing Division is a division of the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union. Our industries include forestry, wood-processing, timber & building products, construction activity such as glazing and floor-laying, and manufacturing activity such as furniture-making, glass production, pulp & paper, soft furnishings, textiles, clothing and footwear.

TCF Community Campaign Officer

Work within the Textile Clothing & Footwear Sector, Manufacturing Division CFMEU. The TCF Sector is seeking a new Community Campaign Officer to join our high energy, passionate, progressive team based in Melbourne Victoria.

Does this sound like you?

Experience and Qualifications  

  • Qualifications in Community Development or other relevant field or equivalent work related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable community members and proven ability to engage them in a range of activities
  • Current and practical knowledge of issues affecting vulnerable workers
  • Demonstrated ability in working with community members, particularly culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent Communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal) and demonstrated ability to engage with difficult to engage individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Program and project and community development origination, implementation and evaluation skills are desirable.
  • Ability to travel interstate as required and work with the Outwork Outreach Officers
  • Vietnamese language an advantage
  • Passion for the union movement
  • Capacity to work irregular hours
  • Report to the Manufacturing division National Compliance Manager

We are looking for a Community Development Officer to support and connect with the Outworker community.

Drawing on community development and strength-based principles, our Community Development Officer will assist in the development and delivery of a range of initiatives targeted at connecting and growing the Outworker network.

As a member of the team, the position will involve planning and delivery of community-based initiatives, events and activities that aim to build the Outworker community. The position will require you to design, implement and evaluate activities, involving the accurate and timely reporting of outcomes.

The role will focus on Community Development activities, supporting the Outwork Outreach Officers nationally as required.
